    4000 Land Rovers

Saw an Al Jazeera new bulletin about that meteor that landed in Russia and they compared the meteor they knew about and that us to the same weight as 4000 Land Rover cars. Not Toyotas or Nissans, Land Rovers thank you very much
Makes you feel special, doesn't it?

That's a rather inexact unit of measure isn't it?

After all, a Series 1 probably weighs 1200kg, but a D4 weighs two and a half tons. What is the "standard" LR that they are using?

The latest (NASA) estimate for the mass of the meteorite is 10,000 tonnes, which gives a Land Rover equivalent weight of 2.5 tonnes.
