That'll buff out
Whack a body kit on it, several rows of roof mounted spotlights, a front bar from a sedan and post it on ebay. Say, 'it's a bit tired' and you can ask $5000
Out for a short jaunt this morning and came across this Discovery, or rather what was left of it,

not sure how long it had been there, no evidence of Police tape etc

to my untrained eyes, it looks as though it was stolen and torched, see the open can in the back

another look at the interior

Actually it's a striking way to see how much steel vs aluminium is in a Disco 1
Yup! steel roof and aluminuim bonnet the exact opposite to a RRC,but a lot of the rest of it are RRC as they were able to produce a lifestyle vehicle on an existing platform and bridge the price gap between the 110 and the late RRC,knowing that the P38a was about to enter production.
It also was the start of the oriental leisure vehicle market.
Must be missing something...........is there some issue?- Ahhh - poor fuel consumption....
I think this may have had something to do with it?
Interesting that it had the steel spare on the rear LHS. Any sign of the alloy of is that on ebay?
I recon that'd be a good start for a tough truck! - just needs new tyres... already has a bunch of weight reduction done! will be super sweet "rat 4x4"![]()
Fuel can is the first thing i noticed, either by the owner or by the culprits.

Not quite... Pajero was a few years ahead.. First released in 1982, 1983 saw the longer, 5 door model, and in 87 the 'full fruit' model (heated seats etc) came out.
The 3 litre SOHC V6 was in the '89 version, same year that the Disco 1 in 3-door was released. A year later Disco got 2 more doors... no more room as the wheelbase was still 100" vs the Paj's 106"
Isuzu brought out their Trooper in 1981, 5 doors on a 104" wheelbase
I still reckon that the Japs frightened the hide-bound hierachy at LR into belated action...![]()
