    Sad news

We attended a bushfire yesterday arvo.I called in to the site this morning to offer our water trucks/machinery if needed in the mop up.
Sadly a volley had got taken out by a falling tree.
Nothing they could do for him unfotunately.
Well respected and popular member of the Quindanning community.

As a CFA member my thoughts are with you, such an unfortunate situation.

Very sad indeed. I was thinking of you when I read this story, wondering if you were involved or knew the man.

    Thanks Garry
Was something I wouldnt want to see ever again.I saw the vehicle with the tree over it and a blanket with workboots protruding nearby.
We attend many fires to help out with our shire gear, the danger is huge on the day of the fire, one doesnt consider it so dangerous on the clean up once under control.

    Shocking news.
I've got all the time in the world for the men and women who are prepared to go above and beyond to look after our country, often at great risk to themselves and for minimal, if any, compensation.
    My condolences to his family.

I saw this last night on Twitter and couldn't believe it. We have just had the same experience here in the North East x2. A funeral yesterday and one today.

It is very sad and too close to home for comfort. I know my girls worry when the pager goes off and the stories they here about recent events. We are still doing day shifts at the Hotham fire, working on the Eastern flank. We had crews in that morning at Pheasants creek. Hopefully we get the rain next Tuesday and Wednesday that is so desperately needed, but we can do without the lightning thanks. 28 call outs for the year not including Strike teams or task force certainly puts the pressure on the Brigade.

To lose a member is very hard, especially when being active in the field. I am so sorry.
