A good man, one of the few journo's with credibility.
RIP
Very sad to see the passing of a truly inspirational Australian. I grew up watching him cover every conceivable story from the far reaches of the world. He knew when to be serious, and when to ham it up and have a little fun. He made the news and sixty minutes worth watching.
So here's to you Pete. And best wishes to your family.
Peter Harvey
Canberra.

He will be deeply missed.
I think channel nine is the the young mans SBS as far as it goes with news programs.
I was just talking about qualty news presenters with the missus just 2 days ago.
Funny how life works sometimes
my hat off to him.
What real pity that the eulogies to man of his being gets less airtime on national tv than the gay mardi gras. Just shows where mankind is going to.
R.I.P Peter.
I can only second all of the posts above
Hats off to you Peter ...
RIP Peter Harvey. 60 minutes and the news just will not be the same. Was a photo of his desk still with his jacket on the back of the chair floating around on fb. Very sad. Guess they needed a great journalist upstairs.
i just saw the news and quite a sad thing to happen. I remember it was only about a week ago there was an interview with him on the abc.
