Poor Discoreckon they were being silly or just unlucky??
Stumbled across this video (don't ask why I was on the 4WDA site...)
I've done a quick search in case this has been brought up before or if it was a member, doesn't seem to be but if it is feel free mods to take this down as I doubt they'd want me going on about what would have been quite a stressful experience.

Looks quite nasty, interesting recovery.
Thoughts?

If I remember it was dads car and tyre pressures were at full strength - and first off road trip
D4 MY16 TDV6 - Cambo towing magic, Traxide Batteries, X Lifter, GAP ID Tool, Snorkel, Mitch Hitch, Clearview Mirrors, F&R Dashcams, CB
RRC MY95 LSE Vogue Softdash "Bessie" with MY99 TD5 and 4HP24 transplants
SADLY SOLD MY04 D2a TD5 auto and MY10 D4 2.7 both with lots of goodies
Great example of why you shouldn't 4wd alone too. Going by the line he said he took i'd say it was a silly/inexperienced move more than it was bad luck. I wonder if he was a P Plater in his Dad's car...?
Sorry as this is a 4wd Action Video - I would say this was staged to make a "good" video for their mag.
The cynic in me is alive and well as far as that mag is concerned.
In not - fine then I am glad all went well and no one was seriously hurt.

unlucky but a good recovery.
I particularly liked the camera magically appearing inside the Disco, the crew arriving with two, if not three, cameramen handy as well as their shirtfront radios already fitted, the roaring engine dragging the Disco up the hill at speed with the driver not wearing a seatbelt, and the little spelling error near the end.

Well the only thing I would have done differently, and have done on a club trip in Bendethra with a dead car, was to do a double pull .
This enables the first towing car to be on easy terrain while the second towing car may be on difficult terrain. The first car would have little to pull if the 2nd towing car is not on an obstacle. Anyway it worked for us .
I was not impressed with the gung ho pull as they could have easily ended up with 2 dead cars.

Wouldn't you have enjoyed idling down the hill in low first and suddenly seen the bozo brigade come charging up, in, as they say, the wrong gear.
