    Best transport around Newcastle

    Hi everyone,
I'm doing a voyage on the Young Endeavour in late April from Newcastle to Brisbane. The only issue Im having is how to get from the airport to the wharf.

Im planning to fly into Newcastle in the morning then get to Queens Wharf by 1500. What is the best way to get from the airport to the wharf? Is there buses/train or will it have to be a taxi?
Just sorting out the last few details of what should be a great trip away.
    Thanks for you help,
    Cheers,
    Joe

    Google maps

    If you walk it's 26Km

If you catch the 130 bus it's about 45 minutes including a 3 minute and a 7 minute walk.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

That is an awesome website. Beats trying to find a decent map and track it that way.

Airport shuttle or taxi I'm afraid. There may be a bus but I'm not sure. Public transport is a joke here. Compared to what it used to be.

Port Stephens Coaches offers a bus service from the airport to the city. When you go to the link, click on "Port Stephens to Newcastle" for bus times, you will see "Newcastle Airport" third from the bottom on each card.

Queens Wharf is a 200 metre walk from the bus terminal at Newcastle Railway Station.

Doesn't actually mean that NSW Public Transport will arrive on time at the airport or even at the destination. The only saving grace is that the 130 bus is a private company "Port Stephens Coaches"

They should be pretty close to the timetable times, they don't have to contend with the heavy traffic that Sydney buses do.
