I'm also in the position of having my boss in the US. Very different from my last company, where my boss was in China.

Another IT person. But I'm perpetually having second thoughts so I also have a Truck license, and I'm part way through a CPL and Advanced GTAW at Tafe. And I had a stab at photography too, but never liked weddings or other people's babies.

A very satisfying and enjoyable job.

Ah, so it is your fault! That stuff you guys add itches like hell, especially when you when you don't get to shower for days. Pretty cool when you drop a load right down the middle of a burning candle and they blow up - unless you are right next to it

Worked on all sorts of equipment for many years, then specialised in forklifts.

State Service Manager for for Australia's only Heavy Forklift Manufacturer, or any size for that matter, over the last ten years

Moving out of that role into a product support role nationally & a bit overseas as well as our export market increases.

I look after broadband routers that cost as much as a North Sydney home and process up to 10 million packets per second. If one goes down its around 15000 broadband connections lost so upgrades can take months to test and implement. The hardware and software are constantly being updated to keep up with the growing traffic demands, keeps me in a job though

Retired technical officer (37 years) in international telecommunications (latterly looking after submarine cable protection and loathed by commercial fishermen who like to trawl across cables and damage them) then, after redundancy from telecomms, a retired railway signaller (8 years) delaying trains to make you late for work or late home.
