Similar line of work. Currently working on a crushing and screening plant for a quarry south of Sydney, but miss iron ore. Last job I worked on over there was a primary crushing plant for the Yandi RGP5 project.

For 28 years : I spent months floating in a 90 foot steel can usually not seeing land for weeks, chasing things on the seafloor with a brain the size of a pinhead that drove grown men anywhere from "tears of joy" to "tears of frustration", all the while burning vast amounts of deisel only to robbed by the middle man, then see the best quality wild caught seafood in the world get sent to other countries , whilst we import mostly farmed rubbish.

Now I work for 1 of the biggest seafood companies in Australia getting seafood to australian markets on time and still in the best quality possible, so that we can atleast give people the option to buy Australian in Australia.

Low point of the Job : Seeing how a super market display cabinet run by people who dont have a clue about handling seafood can turn a quality product into a very average quality product.

High point of the job : After spending most of my married life away from my wife and kids, having a job now where I get paid to go home every night

    Cheers Ean

19 Years this year working for Holden at their Proving Ground in Gippsland , People say what a grouse Job and it has and can be at times but my answer is its like working in a chocolate factory and im sick of the chocolate , And you may say or ask I might be a one eyed Collingwood and Holden supporter Well never have been and if I was to buy a 2wd car it would be a Ford and if I have to follow Afl it might as well be the Hawks

I have seen some very interesting stuff and transported some very expensive cars all over the country but at the end of the day its a job and with that not for too much longer . The way things are going in the Australian motor industry the golden hand shake is not too far away and your meat pies and holden wil be no more

I used to spend a bit of time in the tower at Alice Springs. Quite an interesting place from which to watch aircraft.
