    Series 3 conversion

I am in the midst of converting my series 3 from the original 2.25 diesel and recently rebuilt 4 speed gear box to a 300tdi backed by a r380 while still keeping the series transfer case. Does anyone else have this set up in their series? What are your reviews on this set up and what are everyone's thought in general about showing a series 3 some love..... Mind you I could have owned a defender for the money I spent.... All tho it wouldn't be a very good defender.... And the old series has had a new lease on life.

Do you have a Defender R380? The selector/gearstick positions are different in the disco boxes.

Ideally you will use a a short bellhousing R380 from a 90, otherwise you will have problems with the cross member behind the gearbox. You probably still will even with the short bellhousing, so may need to use a disk brake conversion for the hand brake.

You should also convert the front end to CV joint swivels, in fact you should swap to Stage 1 front and rear axle assemblies for the 3.54 Diff ratios.

Have you reviewed the www.aulro.com//other-powered-series-land-rovers/ area?

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
