I'm glad you said that with a sheepish grin, Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

OK - definitely ticks all the boxes...
So why are you still in Oz then - is she your sister/cousin/daughter

Agree with Dougal too. Its a place where you have to clench your cheeks if you bend over - so your eyeballs don't get blown out

Landing at the airport is always entertaining. You get a good view down the runway looking out the side windows. If you haven't been there jump onto Google and search for Wellington airport landings.

I live an hour from Queenstown. I might be biased, but I think it's the best part of the country bar none. Driest, hottest and coldest too.

As a huge bonus, it's a long way from Auckland.

Queenstown was my favourite in NZ.
I think I may move to tassie for a while.
I would not mind living in NZ for a while but there is just other places I would sooner be,no offence.

You're right. Watched a few vids. Interesting to see their little wings flapping away just after take-off.

So you didn't see the landing where the plane managed to corkscrew to such an extent he touched the wingtips on the runway?

That area is one of my favourites too. Queenstown itself doesn't do much for me but the mountains, lakes and rivers are awesome. We were back there on holiday a couple of years ago with some Aussie friends, and they were blown away with the clean/crisp environment and grandeur. Seeing large trout swimming on the bottom of crystal clear water that's probably 5m deep was one of the highlights for them.

I was born and bred in Northland, but lived in Wellington, Palmerston Nth and Blenheim as an adult before I moved across the Tasman.
To me there's not much in the North Island that doesn't have an equivalent or better in Oz - but there's no Aussie equivalent of most of the South Island.

    4WDing is better here though

Queensland has a much nicer climate, so why wouldn't people move up here.
