I looked at the 110 dual cab befor I bought the Tardis, but with the spare wheel in the back the tray area was useless, I can fit more in the wagon. Go the 130 cab chassis and be done with it.

Its a good point, the 110 Dc is for a very limited market, You can see why there a very good seller in the UK, but here, if you need more space the 130 would be better for that.

Hi. Can I ask why the need for a 110 tray back when a 130 wheelbase is only 17" longer?... IMO that's one fugly truck... I'd have thought you'd be better off finding the rear bulkhead of a 130', cutting out the triangular section behind the second door, and incorporating a tray into it that's smaller than the one pictured, so it's more in keeping with the scale of the truck... A4 pic of a 110 from the side and some scissors and card are your friend here.. (if you are like me and about as computer literate as a baseball bat!!)!!

Thanks All for the pics and the advice.
130 just way to big, hard enough trying to steer a 110 round the side of a mountain.
I was looking at a tray back defender and fitting a Trayon Camper, (see VNX-205's setup). I can't stand the single cab setup, too cramped can only carry one passenger. Really a crew-cab (with a half size seat with knees up room setup would be ideal), but unless I design and build one myself, they're not available.
Or chop the back off my Disco I, extend the chassis a bit and add a tray big enough for the Trayon, well lots to think about, Regards Frank.

My 110 cab/chassis has seats and seat belts for three. (Well three my size anyway. I'm not sure I would like to try to squeeze between two blokes your size though. )

Chop the Disco Frank, you won't regret it!!

There's is a red space-cab disco 2 that was built to tow a fifth wheel in Sydney, I've never seen a photo on line, I'll grab one next time I see it

    Cheers

Re 110 vs 130 etc, my main issue is that when I replace my D2a in the next few years, for Tax purposes the vehicle has to be a ute. I also need 5 seats so that means a dual cab configuration. It would be easy to go and buy a Hilux but I can't bring myself to do that. I don't need the tray length of a 130 nor the size around town. A 110 dual cab is OK but I don't like the style side rear as I can see access being an issue, particularly from the sides. A tray back 110 dual cab would give excellent access to the cargo area from the rear and sides. A large tool box could be used for normal use , with a lift-on box style unit for extended trips.

My main hope is that the Defender replacement, whenever that may be, will include a genuine cab-chassis dual cab style configuration (like Hilux etc). If not, then custom modification it may have to be if I am going to stay with the LR marque.
