Not really land rover related plate but a story behind my plate on the 110

When I moved over from the uk it was 3 months after my dad had been killed in a road accident in the UK. He had been remarried ands use to the new wife we knew we would see nothing of the inheritance.

So we had been given £1500 by my dad before he died and when I was sat at the Qld transport getting the 90 paper work done. They asked us what plate we wanted and they said that READ was available ( my surname ) so we used that £1500 to buy the plate and that will always be a reminder of my dad.

As for my dads wife we were right been 8 years and we have not seen a cent of the million or so my dad had and she has spent the lot and remarried . So I am glad I did get the plate.

I lashed out for the first time on personalised plates for the D3 when I transferred the rego to NSW. DUC03K. Still being somewhat of a cheapskate though these are "only" $90pa. And still a little bit cryptic for "Joe Public" so my lair factor is somewhat reduced. Turns to SWMBO and says "Look how much money I saved".

I suppose some of them make sense but it still totally beats me why anyone bothers especially those that are to amuse their kids. Most of our vehicles are money pits anyway so why waste more?
Although to my ever lasting shame, money bags younger bro has his initials and birth year on his Autobiography.
    Disgraceful.
