Know how you feel, but us over 60's don't have to prove anything to anyone, we don't have to compensate for anythingBob
Hi guys. I'm trying to find people around my age (40) or younger to go 4wding/camping with. I know there is a land rover club up here, and with out trying to be rude, I found it was mainly full of older people keen on light 4wding and scenic touring, more so than trying tougher tracks. This is the sort of thing I'm into, I like to push my locked Defender 110 quite hard. If you are keen, send me a pm. Cheers.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
I am up on the tablelands, but the discovery is not quite set up for heavy duty stuff, still got to get some rated tow points etc.
I am still trying to gauge the limits of the vehicle, but only been out by myself, so very conservative.
The other option is to try 4x4 Play FNQ • Index page or run whatcha brung on Facebook.
Either way if you are up this way and are happy for a tag along send me a PM.
Cheers
Have you tried the Cairns 4WD Club? I think they do days/weekends of varying levels of difficulty from beginners right up to the tough stuff. I have actually only read about them myself, so I may be misinformed but this is what I hear.
I'm new to Cairns but I also only just got my first ever 4wd (puma 110) a couple of weeks ago so I'm probably not who you're looking for.
Hope it's a help anyway
Greg
4x4playfnq is the go , hopefully i will get my disco built up soon so i can come for a wheel with you
I was also going to suggest 4x4playfnq.com as a forum with more locals - they do quite a few trips.
I'm from Townsville and it's a bit quieter down here, I've made the trip up to do some trips and it's always been great.
(Davies Ck, 7 Hills when it was open, Maytown)
hopefully there is a trip to have a look around black mountain road this w'end (most likely sat) if people want to tag along. I'll be going up with another guy. I'll put up final meet details tonight around 8pm if anyone would like to join us.
