    Britpart Quality

I got this from the LRDirect site, and it seems as if all those complaints about Britpart quality over many years may have had some effect!

2% returns? Yeah right. Probably because the new part that just crapped itself has just been launched into the stratosphere by the rather unhappy Landy driver who has just had to redo 12 hours worth of work.

I wonder if they will change the colour of the plastic bags they use?

I always cringe when I see a Blue bag.

In saying that I have been pretty lucky with Britpart for the parts i get. you just have to choose carefully what parts you get from them.

Isn't the title an oxymoron? Talk's cheap.

Like others I've good and bad experiences with Britpart (& also Bearmach) parts. They only outsource the manufacture of the parts and it seems their purchasing decisions are made exclusively on price.

Rubber parts are always a problem, boots/gaiters decomposing long before the vehicle is back on the road.

" If any part is found to be defective following an inspection by our quality team due to faulty materials or workmanship then that part will be replaced free of charge."

I wonder who the quality team consists of and how blind they are??? You still have to pay to send it back, then pay for the replacement to be sent...

Cheaper to bin most parts and learn from your mistakes.

I think a lot of people are mistaken wrt to Britpart products. They package parts in their blue bags from a number of suppliers. Some of these parts are OEM, some are poor quality outsourced. I have no qualms using a part out of a blue britpart bag if I know the brand of the product (such as a clearly stamped genuine Waxstat thermostat)

Sometimes Britpart are okay if they're just reselling branded parts, but they've gone very wrong with selling so much cheap rubbish. Given they're such a huge company, they made a big mistake by not lifting their game sooner. It'll be years before I'll trust them.

Britpart do sell OEM stuff, in there boxes, but they also sell there stuff in there boxes.

I think it depends on a number of factors as to why some people want the cheaper part, I recently had a chap buy a Britpart radiator, it ended up being the incorrect part, I could only offer him a genuine land rover at $500 more than the britpart, he went off to another ebay store and got a $300 one, he was happy.

Will it last who knows , but like most of the things we sell, I think if you are using your vehicle hard, and doing lots of outback trips then, please buy the quality products they will last longer.
