    2013 defender, 2.2 , or 2.4.?

I thought the 2013 defender was the 2.4 model, but the LR dealer sites in Aus. all seem to be advertising the 2.2 engine , even though now they advertise the new colours, [ Baltic blue, etc] . Just curious, surely the dealers would update their websites, you would think. Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Bob, you're arse-about, the 2.4 was superceded by the 2.2, so yes the current model has the 2.2 litre engine

Thanks ,mate, I have a lot to learn. I just found it hard to understand why you would put a smaller output engine in a vehicle that I think is crying out for a TDV6, or 5 cylinder transit engine, I think it is ridiculous that people have to "chip" their engines to get the power they need for their particular application, the vehicles should be sold with the capability supplied , Bob

Do people really need more power, or do they do it because they can?
We went away over Easter with two adults & two teenagers in the 2.2 D90 with the camper trailer on the back, & at no time did I wish I had "more power".
It did everything I asked of it with still more in reserve.

Or at least an engine of a suitable capacity that means you dont have to ring its neck when you want to over take or tow.
