Rear swing away carrier on a rrc. Thoughts and ideas

G'day guys. Any one done this on here. I am thinking a twin swing away one side for jerry cans and one side for spare wheel. Haven't seen one down under tho. Was wounder if any one has some pics of one on a rig or thoughts and do an donts on the idea. Also thinking to put a rear winch in it also

I did this on my Discovery I. The chassis pick-up points for the bumper are the same on the Range Rover but you have to make a decent bumper to mount the swing out carriers to.
My system can carry two spare wheels...or I can remove one of the wheels and carry two jerry's in it's place if I wish.

I did a similar thing to 91ramjet. I bought an ARB rear step bar which is very solid and will easily hold whatever you have in mind. I had half a wheel carrier from a friend - off a triton or something, then made up a new base, and with a few parts from Rijidij and it works like a charm.

I'll post some pics when it is light.

    Cheers - Gav.

My spare carrier. May oneday make another for the other side for jerrys. One 3/4"UNF nut and a small bolt and pivot pin comes out to remove it if needed.

That's the thread I started, where someone put up some great photos. In the end, I got an old ARB step from someone else here that already had a wheel carrier added on to it, and later I made a jerry-can carrier as well. Certainly, a big and heavy thing like the ARB step is a good starting point.
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.
