Thread: Anyone shipped anything weighty from the UK recently ?

I have read a bit of this and generally all of the above forums seem wrong.
the charge that I was hit with by DHL was a Quarantine inspection Fee. There was also a thread on here about 2 years ago

If you look on the AQIS site they explain that they spot check shipments and that the average cost to inspect is about $18.

It appears that DHL want to keep their base prices low so do not average the charge , but charge the individual shipments that are inspected, and for good measure add a $40 fee of their own.

It appears that they do not follow up or place a mercantile report on non payers, but I would never use DHL if I can avoid it, as to me this is just plain dishonest.

I think it's a scam and it's definatly DHL doing it.

I don't know about that but they shipped 4 18x8inch rims from Northern Ireland to Perth for 200 U.K. pounds within a week.
