A bit off topic - what did that couple with the car and trailer end up building? Did a crowd rock up for lunch or was it an elaborate picnic setup???
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

    Chops chatted to them.
They were having an afternoon picnic with friends. By the time we left a few of their friends had rocked up. They had two fires going and what looked like an urn on one of them.

    I know where
Mick is coming from as far as his 'Axe to Grind', not sure who, but someone decided to use his brand new axe as a rake to drag melted bottles in and out of the fire..... not much axe handle left in the morning

Which leads me to another pet topic....bloody bottles in fires..... but I've done this one before haven't I?????

But my PET PET topic.... girls (and some guys) PLEASE bring the paper back to camp and burn it...... I really hate walking into the bush to find it hanging on the trees.

Second that one. Boggy hole was the worst I have seen. People did bury their droppings and paper but the dingoes dig it up eat the poo and leave the paper behind.
Desert Parks pass suggests burning the paper in the hole before burying.
Another was the western north bank of the Wenlock. Lucky it floods there each year to clean it up.

Our next purchase will be a popup en-suite tent, with a portable toilet. There are a few new toilets on the market , and some eco-friendly additives to break down the waste . One lasts 4 days, after which you dispose of the liquid waste as normal, by burying, with nothing to attract animals. The toilet paper breaks down as well. Or you may opt for the option of disposing the waste in one of the many disposal points in caravan parks. There is nothing more disgusting than coming across toilet paper/ waste in a camp site. I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Sounds like this thread has diverged a lot from Mick's axe. Perhaps it is worthwhile making a new thread ....."Don't bugger the Bush"?

Just a hint on using a plastic rubbish bin for food scraps, etc, buy one with the wire handles that hold the lid on, when you are ready to leave, tie up the inside bag, place a second bin bag over the top, cut a couple of holes for the wire handles, secure the lid, occy strap around the bin at the top, you can carry the bin in the vehicle happy that it will not empty the contents in your vehicle, Bob

Just thought I'd mention that its possible to buy mini portable toilets which are much smaller than the standard ones you see in many shops. Ours is about half the normal size and fits in the camper trailer much easier, particularly if separated into its two parts.
