    Thumbs up

I've always been keen on all forms of Motorsport, including in my "early" days, Drag Racing, when we used to go down to the old Fisherman's Bend Strip.
In those days, there was a person who had mounted a Merlin engine into an early model FX Holden. The driver used to steer the car with his head out of the rear window.....because the engine "consumed" the cabin.
It did run, & it did sound pretty awesome (what Merlin wouldn't), but it wasn't very well sorted.....they could never sort out a clutch that would handle the torque from a standing start, so it always had to be moving as it went across the start line.
    Those were the days!
    Cheers, Pickles.

I came across it about a year ago and thought that if I ever won the lottery, this would be one of the first things I bought.

The version they did have built was just with a Rover V8. They had it done at some fancy-pants classic car workshop so the final vehicle looks very nice, (from Internet photos, anyway). Apparently they had big plans but the GFC finished that off.

Someone involved with offroad trialling in England put a V12 in his Series. I think it must have been the Jag version. Apparently the Landie was used for marshalling and recoveries and went quite well.
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.

There's always this, not a Land Rover but it has a meteor v12 in it. Rod Hadfield, former owner of Castlemaine Rod Shop Built it based on a toy given to him by his Grandfather when he was a kid.

Apparently its only good for a few laps before the heat buildup gets too much for the radiators he can fit in the body...

There are a couple of You-tube videos of this car in action. Not bad but the braking from speed would be interesting. Cheers, 130man.
