Any ideas or does anyone know where i could get these from..Oh yeah it was quiet a few years ago when the neighbour got them for us so i guess they would of changed by now..

    Thanks Jason..
I think the style of ration pack you are refering to went out of production in the early to mid 90's, the ration packs that replaced them were very similar more of a menu change as well as a expanded menu. There was a peroid as well when the F.R.E.D was no longer included but due to complaints was put back in. MREInfo.com - Australian CR1M has a listing of the current menu's don't know how correct it is. Try Dennis at worlds end military disposal in hunter st he would be your best bet at locating some if they are available.

Well most people on this forum know of me & my issues.. The main reason i'm trying to get hold of some . I have been starting to collect some gear for hiking as i want to try & do some so i thought if i could get some i would use them for hiking , Only over nighters for now but i realy want to make a good go at doing this so thought they would be great gor this..

Do the Australian forces get issued with Mess kits ..I have a swiss volcano that i have used here at home & have just brought a swedish mess kit to use when i go hiking . Plus i do use them around here aswell..So if our Forces get mess kits What are they. Are they just the same as the G.I ones the USA use ??

Another member has contacted me to offer some packs , Still in the tins so i geaus there the older ones. But i'll take them Well as long as there still in date..

The ones we used to get off the neighbour where in a bag very similar looking to the pic Booger posted earlier here..

you dont want them for hiking, they are too bloody heavy.

to this day I still strip all the tin stuff out of mine when I go field with them and keep the powdered/dehyd stuff.

if I was part of a team that had 2 people that wouldnt strip their ration packs down I could generally get away with only taking one ration pack for 3 days and just rat off the stuff that they didnt want when they got it to the field.

going field with raffies is even more fun when we get one manners I dont even take them and I usually manage to hump out with a couple of sparies.

THe menu for the CR1M is pretty close from memory,

What do you think we use to chock the door open so it doesnt bang with the frequent coming and goings of the coffee, cake, chocolate and beer trollies from room service?

Having the door knocked upon or slammed at inappropriate times during horror movies can cause expressions that upset the laundry service
