During a very long drought i have seen them eating dead pigs that were shot the night before.
A few years ago, during the drought, my next door neighbour got one (with his Hilux) in my place and called me to let me know. The next morning, I went to check on the body, and found one of the pig's mates breakfasting on him. I did a U-turn and went back to the house for a gun. He continued eating, allowing me to stop about 25 yards away. But started to walk off when I opened the door. Never was much good at moving targets, but got him with two shots.
Checked several times over the next few days but saw no more.
