I air conditioned a very large two story house here on the gold coast a few years ago. The builder handed over the house on completion but the idiot owner didn't change it from the builders keys. That weekend, someone (with a builders key) got in and completely stripped the house bare. Took everything that was and wasn't nailed down, even to the point of taking everything out of the roof for the air cond but only leaving the outlets. They took the outdoor unit which was next to the switchboard but the twits didn't turn the power off before cutting through the mains power and copper tube where they came out the wall. Left a nice blow mark up the wall. The best part was, the entire interior of the house was white, walls, ceilings, carpet, balustrades on the stairs, tiles, the lot!. When I got asked to check what was left in the roof of the air cond, the Police were having a bloody field day with the black finger print powder, slapping it around everywhere like it was Christmas, trampling it into the carpet as they worked. I had a chat to one of the Police outside who informed me that the house was owned by a very well known criminal lawyer and it was payback time for getting some of the lowlife scum. off.

We had a Ford Escort pinched from outside our flat & the police kindly returned the number plates & filled out a crime report after a few days. We enquired a couple of weeks later to be told that stolen vehicles under $2.5k value weren't investigated.
    That was in 1984 !!!

2 examples of different care levels. When I was 13-16 we lived 2 blocks from middle of Wollongong. 15 years old casual day at school, I'm walking from the bus stop to my house, about 600m or 3 blocks. 100m mark f100 pulls up cop runs over ,"can we search your bag" no problem it's full of school books, 400 m later outside vacant block 2 crummydores ,undercover, jump the gutter and 4 undercover cops jump out with guns drawn,1 shoved into my back pushed me up against the old retaining wall and searched my bag. Outside house door another marked cop car skids to a halt ,I just stand there holding my bag open as the cop runs over. Turnt out some moron had robbed the credit union across from the Wollongong HQ and tried to escape on foot with the same clothes and bag as me
2: three months later I get home from school ,front door corner window was punched in, I went inside to the kitchen got my fathers large slicing knife and called the cops. A few minutes later I hear bashing at the back door and a whacked out junkie was on the back steps who ran when he saw me , called the cops again, still never came! From their Hq driveway was 60 m ,left, 300m, right then 200m to our door

I guess you can't detail it here - but people who did that to you would be sorry I imagine

I think there are to many accountants and not enough workers in the police these days,

I had someone try to break into my garage at home a few years ago, I rung the police as they had damaged the locks and doors trying to get in, but they never came,

I stuck my German Shepard in the garage for a few weeks when I would go to work, the Lady next door told me later that some bloke got the shock of his life when he lifted the door and a dogs head popped out trying to kill him,

been 5 years now, haven't had anymore troubles touch wood
