My favourite Orange cold experience was when as a young bloke I had some mates that came from Lismore call in on the way home from Newcastle TAFE after our block release week. I was living in an old weatherboard place next to the Mercedes dealer on Forbes road at the time. They were fine when they woke up on the lounge room floor on a frosty morning until the radio announcer told them it was minus 12 outside, the looks on their faces were priceless.............

Have only ever visited or passed through Orange a couple of times, but used to go to boarding school in Forbes (many moons ago - family lived in Ardlethan when the tin mines were still going). I can remember many a cold morning at the college on the river bend with the footy ovals completely white with frost.

It's a pleasant 17 degrees here in Perth at the moment, but has been absolutely bucketing down rain for most of the morning.

And Weetbix ................ great snack with butter and strawberry or apricot jam spread on them (while they're dry - not soggy ones).
    Cheers .........

Orange cold and I have a bit of a love/hate relationship.
I love cold weather because you can rug up and it's good for sleeping once you warm up.
On the other hand, it's impossible to work on the Disco, the front of our house is like a wind tunnel, and they make early morning starts...errr...well...terrible
My best Orange cold weather memories are also my worst....
Smacking my hand into a wall during a snowball fight....
Being terrified of my sisters driving during a snow storm.....
Trying to explain to the highway patrol officer who stopped me playing in the snow one evening.....I said I was taking photos
Then there was the time I stepped off a plane in South Korea in shorts and a T shirt into -17.....It was fine as there was very little wind, but I got some odd looks

Here, in tropical Hobart, the weather is nice and sunny
It was a tad crispy early in the morning with ice on the cars but nothing that a Tasmanian cannot put up with it
