    Pilbara Members

    Hi Chaps,
Just wondering if any members live in the Pilbara and if so where do they get their Landies serviced. I take ownership of a Deefer 110 first week in September and need to know a service centre that can do the servicing. I live in Wickham

    hey Tutc.

I used whyatts in geraldton when i lived in paraburdoo. They were very good with their service & work. They rebuilt my heads for me a week before i left on the gunbarrel hway. Nothing was too much effort.

I will second Whyatts I get all my work done by them and its only 1100 km each way the basic servicing I do myself.
I wouldn't give you 2 cents for most of the workshops in Karratha although most people speak highly of Barth Brothers in the LIA.

TutC, you'll enjoy a Landie in Toyota country. It's so much fun when people wonder why you own it and you can make up strange reasons just to confuse them.

I'd recommend you buy a scan tool and get a lot of practise using it so that you've got some idea of what's going on with your car. I've actually stayed with carbies on my engines because of the two workshops here where one says: "I don't work on Land Rovers", and the other one is too busy.
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.

Thanks lads for the replies. I was thinking of using Whyatts when I retire down Kalbarri next year, but for doing the servicing until the warranty runs out I need somewhere a little closer to home. If I can't find anywhere decent, I'll try and coincide service intervals with trips to Kalbarri and kill two birds with one stone.
Rang Southern Landrover yesterday and the deefer has already arrived in Fremantle and will be ready to pick up first week in September.
Usually hate the drive up from Perth, but this one is going to be something special. Having an ARB bull bar fitted in Ossy Park and an Autologic ECU revamp done at Discovery Auto's in Wangara before I head off. Calling into Kalbarri for a couple of days on the way up, so all in all it should be quite a pleasant trip.
Will post pictures of the trip later on.
Bythe way Davo, what scan tool do you use

Nothing! That's the point - I've got carbies because I can't handle the electronic stuff here on my own. Sooner or later I'd need some workshop help and there really isn't anything available here for the above reasons.

I came very close to doing what you've done and buying a new Landie a few years ago, which would have been easier to have since there was a dealer in Broome. But jobs are so unstable up here that I didn't go through with it, luckily.

Enjoy your drive. It should be veeeery nice in a new Landie.

Hi ya TutC cant help with the servicing as i do my own on my TDI disco. But if you want to catch up i'm in Port Hedland.

Dont know where you work but if you work for BHP then it entitles you to free servicing at a land rover dealer for any new landrover purchased. nearest dealer is a long long long way away but jut to let you know.
