I bet only a very small percentage of tobacco company execs smoke their own products.
But I'll also bet everyone of them would deny that smoking is addictive and highly dangerous and makes you stink.

I always hate seeing a lighted cigarette thrown out of a car window-- even if it is not Bush Fire Season.

And given the addictive nature of it, it's a bit more difficult to fully stop.
The Mrs has tried to stop several times, her Brother doesn't think she should (I reckon it's because he hasn't the wherewithal to stop himself) so has been ignorant enough on occasion to come and blow smoke in her face as he knows she'll give in and start again.

Saying that, the last time round she'd been off em for about 4 weeks and decided she 'needed' a fag after seeing her ex (maliciously) drive his car into me. Then followed another, and another, and back to the start again...

If I was going to argue the point, I was the one hit by the damn thing and I didn't feel the need for one, although I've never smoked in the first place.

My wife gave up for 4 months, then the stress (as she put it) of her parents imminent arrival put her back onto it. Her mother is a real chain smoker, and for some reason (that I don't understand apparently because I've never smoked) even the thought of having her mother there made her give in.

I think the big issue is most people expect to fail the first 2 or even 20 times they try to quit.
As such, they think "Bugger it, I've got a few more goes before I call it quits".
And John I'd agree, although I think I remember Bushie pointing out that modern cigarettes have to be actively smoked to keep them lit.
Smoking is bad enough, when you're a nob about it is even worse.
