We have one of the compressors ( i got it for $50 as a reduced item) and it performs as well as the ARB one mounted in the Disco. Same unit currently at Repco for $165.00 I think. Can't vouch for the UHF though.

BIL swears by his Aldi air compressor - loves it.
Aldi is a big company in Europe and is said to be fussy about ensuring minimum standards for its products.
I'll be down at Aldi on Sat. morning seeing what is available. Got 5 Aldis within a 15 minute drive, so how good is that!

Aldi have the best returns policy
    (Walks into aldi approaches counter)
    "This radio doesn't work properly"
"Do you want a refund or a store credit"
(Swaps product for cash back, leaves store)
Iirc in the comms section they got a decent rap
If you're fussed about quality buy an icom or gme
If you want a UHF for $99, sharpen your elbows

Is 5W adequate for reasonable use? They look decent for the price, but I have little knowledge when it comes to UHF.

5W is the max you are supposed to use
