No,I didn't take it home for tea,but they do taste like chicken if cooked properly,so I'am told.
The snake was relocated to the nearby waterfront in a cardboard carton by Inc's intrepid daughter, but the neighbour has chooks, and was missing 7 eggs this morning,so I am betting that "Joe Blake" will be back for more eggs!
Sorry Dullbird but I don't need a serpentine belt, but I have just got a timing chain kit for my 2.25ltr Series 2a which needed replacing after 174,000+miles, so I can't complain about parts not lasting.

they do, skinned properly, seasoned with chilly and BBQ suace then left in a smoker they make a very nice jerky too.
the trick with cooking them is a slow humid cooking process. if you are doing them as fillets or rings in an oven do so on a well oiled pan or teflon pan with a couple of tins of pre heated hot water near the heat source and dont use fan forced.
Season the top before cooking, turn once and season the other side, go light on the seasoning as the flavor of the meat is easily lost.

I have not tried python, but have cooked and eaten a file snake and it did taste like chicken. We coiled it on the bbq plate and that worked a treat.![]()

"With all these recipes forthcoming, would it not have been simpler to turn the iron up full blast and start at the head end (for safety's sake) and slowly use the iron as a mobile inverted grill plate all the way down the length of the specimen, emanating a random "shot of steam" to vary the cooking process during the process? You could have seasoned with different styles of seasoning on the way and found out which was the best. With a non stick iron this should have been a relatively simple operation, although I do realise there could have been a certain degree of difficulty "one armed".
Tell Narelle, its just a thought, ........... for next time.
As for the broken arm bit, surely there is a less violent and more tactful manner of you wangling to drive her new disco!!!
