Nissan's, they do all handle like a bag of poo.

Borrowed my old mans D22 Navara for a couple of days as his trailer was full, now that ZD30 in a light ute goes ok but the handling is abysmal .
This is his 4th nissan after an 88 GQ, 95 GQ and 99 GU, all have that shaking, shimmying feedback even since new.
The seating position in the Navara can only be describe as arse on the floor knees in the air and i'm only 5'8". The rear seats are for kids only unless you have an itchy ear that you want to scratch with your knee.
I think i'd rather my old 2dr rangie than this 2006 low k ute, its only saving grace is its acceleration in 2nd gear from about 40kph is petrol like.

    Hmm.....
My old man has the exact same vehicle, only time he had bad handling was unladen in the wet with the factory tyres.
FWIW I love driving it, I find the driving position comfortable except the steering wheel blocks my view of the speedo.
I'd agree about the rear sets though, spent several hours in there, not nice.
    Pulls nicely though.

Unladen is scary even after new tyres and new shocks.

    What KMs?
Dad's is just under 100k and we've never had a problem with the handling apart from the previous tyres as mentioned...
I'll even admit it's towed me home once....

the rear leaves are very compromise.I recently travelled in a 2013 D40-heaps of front space and the owner had 2 child capsules in the rear.
the 2.5 auto drove like a water bed with a caravan...the owner was unaware that it should be better.

I have loads of neighbours with D22-all get a visit to a good spring maker.
been down the modified shock road with limited improvements.

we have a new ranger on hyway tyres and its great on good gravel but hopeless on wet rough tar..has improved now the tools boxes are fitted.

we have a dozen basic hilux utes of most versions.the new cab chasis 4X2 is a shocker.

4 coil[landrover/patrol] not much chop when the springs go off,

    nissan

Just bought a d22 2013 2.5 deisel dualcab--definately a ute handling is ok towing a camper on rough dirt was quite good 4wd low through bush tracks in the cape OK, standard suspension and all ---no dust ingress through filter on dirt and overall so far trouble FREE----which is a majer point for me! Areas I travell there is no phone reception and a long way between pit stops and very little other traffic--WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT---I traded my td5 disco on the nissan!!!!

Maybe if you replaced every component in the suspension they may be ok but out of the factory they are woeful, dads new in 88 GQ was ok but still had that shimmy that every patrol i have driven has had.
Obviously most dual cab utes have leaves that are too hard for the load that their small tray can hold so i except that part of the equation.
even with some worn bushes my disco rides and handles better.
