Best to get the import permit before the vehicle leaves the country of origin. Some shippers won't touch the vehicle until it has a permit.

It would have come in via the Special Import Scheme by a RAWS garage.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

With the shift in the exchange rate it's also not really worth it anymore, unless it's a special version not available here. I'd bring a Defender 110 Utility over to use as a travelling truck (nearly went through the rigmarole when one of the 2008 G4 Defenders came up for sale in the club) and I'm seriously considering the hoops of getting a Sportscar not on the SEVS list brought over (VXR220) but it's a fair old lump of paperwork. It's not impossible, just a faff. At least with most Land Rovers they're built to a worldwide spec, so getting them through the ADR's isn't a huge issue. Having been through it all with 2 cars now, it doesn't faze me so much

Anthony J went all the way through the paperwork wanting to bring in Defender 90s when LRA wasn't bringing them in. Then was stopped because the model was still in LRs model list, just they werent supplying them.

AJ says the out of pocket costs to be stopped at the end wasn't worth it.

You must be referring to New 90s here?
