    Not really.

Spent a lot of time on the road in my younger days, but all the spare time rock climbing etc. I never needed the adrenaline rush on the road as I got much much more scampering up 100m rock walls.

In '91 when Ford reintroduced the V8 I bought one.........didn't need a V8, but I wanted one Couldn't wait to do my first burnout

Later I bought an XY Ute, worked 302 Windsor, revved like buggery.........I don't know how I didn't blow this engine up, I used to drive it very hard.

I also raced Karts for 7 years, ending up in the fastest class at the time, 200 Supers, twin engines with power to weight ratio better than Formula One of the same era. These Yamaha engines did 18000 RPM, some other engines did 20000+ RPM.

I've ridden in and driven a few fast cars, but I'll never forget overtaking then getting chased by a near new VE R8.... 5200rpm in 5th gear.... I'll let you figure out the speed.... I eventually chickened out and backed off, he overtook me, and mustve been a lil cranky because he had the poor thing screaming when he went past....

As for the magic "30".... years ago when i was more of a ratbag, a man I respected greatly told me "you'll get to 28 and you'll slow down a lot, you'll realise you're no longer ten feet tall and bulletproof, the only ones who dont end up in an early grave"

He wasnt far off the mark.

Put me in control of these and the hoon comes out in me, and I am well on the wrong side of 50. The OP asked, who used to be a hoon. Not me, I still am.

    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

    love the XY Murray!

I had an 1967 XR with a serious 302w! Should never have sold it My brother built the motor.

He also still has his 1964 XP Coupe, it has a 363 Dart block, with AFR Heads and two T66's, one hanging off each side. Runs a lazy 10 sec pass ot 8psi, around 120mph. It gets no traction till about half track.

I had an R32 GTR, twin turbo's removed with a single GT35r, and a 50mm external screamer gate, big injectors de-jetro computer (no AFM's) and many other parts of good gear. I sold it many years ago now, but it was untouchable on the street, would spin all 4 wheels up and through 3rd gear. Launched harder than an R1.

And am currently selling my 05 Respol Fireblade 1000RR

I could guess that speed! hahaha

Agree with the slow down age. I even have an issue with heights now, all of a sudden. Strange enough. I used to love getting high (teehee), now I struggle getting on the roof of the Landy!

No mate, sold it a few years ago, cheap. The engine was showing serious signs of wear and tear (no wonder the punishment I gave it) and the body was deteriorating too. It was a fun car to have, but I wasn't prepared to invest what it needed, just moved on to something else.
