    Anyone here an artist

My Aunty was a fine artist and under her guidance I started to sketch and paint from about the age of three and never stopped. Bush landscapes and portraits are my favourite subject.
Working and travelling in the bush I always made time for my art.
Portraits of old Bushmen and native kids my main interest.
I hope yet to spend some time around Arnem land where there are lots of subjects. Those old natives and beautiful black kids are a magnet.
I now have time on my hands to get at it.
In later years I had trouble addapting to wearing reading glasses and painting and then when I started to develop cataracts, that was the end of that. Havent touched a brush for a few years but now with my new lenses that are settling in I am ready to resume.
A sample below. This was painted on location about twenty year ago and called "Morning Mist ". 16x20".

    Great work!
I'm not really artistic, creative in my own way in that I can talk crap for hours on end, but never really been that great in terms of artwork.
Looking forward to seeing some more of your work
    Cheers

Great painting Robert. Would love to see more. That is the style of art that I like - not keen on this modern stuff that looks like it was done by kids (or a chimp in many cases).

I have no talent in this area whatsoever, but I'm about to head off to visit my mum in Tassie, and she has been painting for years and is quite good at it. A lot of her work is a very similar style to the one that you posted. She did a lot of landscape painting up round the Atherton Tableland when my parents lived at Mt Carbine - a lot of scenes with old relics of past mining activities featured in them.

I used to do portraits in black & white, using pencil - and produced a few that weren't too bad. But that was many years ago and I haven't tried it since.
    Cheers .........

Develop that talent, it would be a shame not to. I'd have that hanging in my house, Bob

    That's very good Robert

I've just had an operation and can do nothing for two weeks so I've been mucking about with some water colours and pen this afternoon to ease the boredom

Anyway this was my effort and killed two hours, I might have another bash tomorrow and see if I can improve a bit

That's really good Robert. Like BMKal says, what you have done there is how I view art.

Between you and Epic Dragon there's at least a couple of really good artists on here. We also have Disco Muppet, though he's a different variety of artist.

This is the last thing I drew..however I really struggle now because I got to get my eyes fixed

Jerry I reckon you have actually done a really good job, I would say though to help make it better send someone out to get you some water colour paper you will be surprised how much it makes a difference to your painting..normal paper does not cut the mustard with water colour

Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
