    CHeers, Pickles.
Unfortunately as you get older you realise its something that follows you around, but hey, that's hindsight

Ummm, I got my licence in mid october 2001 I think, by the time december came I had one canary for bald back tyres, 9 demerit points, 129km/hr an a 100 zone(spotted at 136 but dropped down), failure to give way (racing with a mate and cut him off, the policeman seen it all) and another for speeding I think. In December I got caught coming home from work and got summonsed for 130km on the stretzlecki highway, 130 through a give way sign (slip lane), 160 on the yinnar driffield road and failure to display P plates, 6 months licence cancellation, not suspension loss by the time I went to court for that, I had also accumulated more points and lost my licence due to demerit points straight after I got it back

I lost points enough to do my brief a couple times in this period, speeding, failure to stop at stop signs, no P plates etc

Another was 129 in a falcon ute me and a mate were halves in, flat to the boards for a long while(250 auto on gas), copper didn't believe me when I told him that, so 1 month on the spot and lost 4 demerit points and by this time it had the P plater 5 point limit, so again for demerit points

Driving whilst disqualified we were out the bush with a few mates and another dude was driving my rangie, he wouldn't drive this big hill so I hopped in and the special solo unit (cops on bikes) came along, one of the guys spotted me quickly hoping out the car took my details and gave me a phone call a few days later, so off to court again

There is more, but its hard to remember

The fleeing thing is not something I'll disclose here, its a long time ago, but still

All this was before I think I was 23 and had actually had my licence for about 2 years of the 5 I should off, so I sold all my road cars, the ED XR8 sprint was the last after one of the chases

fast forward a few years and I stuffed an LS1 into an old jag, thinking I was a bit smarter, kept out of trouble for a while, mind you destroyed 2 diffs and a transmission in the jag in that time in less than a few thousand kays and took it to a mates workshop where I was helping out wire up some LS's in some rovers, came into the street, industrial estate on a sunday morning, 1st 2nd wheelspin and fishtail up the road and busted again, they impounded the jag and off to court again, so I gave the Jag to my old man

The last one a year ago nearly I swerved at a speed camera, which, I didn't know, have other cameras in them, summonsed with drive in a manner dangerous, I got 2 lots of legal advice, both said to represent myself, magistrate said I was facing jail sentence due to my record, expensive solicitor got it dropped to careless, fine, 3 points and no licence loss

Been to court a few other times for various other stuff, unregistered vehicle I contested as a I had a permit and the policemen didn't like my repeatedly calling hime an asshole as I had a permit, magistrate agreed

Had many dealings over the years, but prefer to keep out of trouble these days, the only problem is the 500+RWHP patrol I'm building, but I'm hoping I can contain myself, I've not had trouble in 4wds just road cars, especially as I'll be doing time next dopey thing I do and with 3 kids, a business, investment properties and a seriously large sum job overseas, I really have alot to lose these days

    "used to be"????

Still am, my toy is still registered, doesnt get driven much given the price of *good* tyres and that the rears are just about rooted (wonder how that happened?)
When I drive it though, I do tend to play up more than a little, though as has been mentioned to me by one of the enforcers..... "you mustnt play up much, theres nothing on you or your cars in the last 4 years...."

I wasnt going to tell him that it was mostly because I hadnt driven my V8 regularly since 2010, and even when I do, I try to pick the time and place.... Also didnt mention the couple of times I may have been a naughty boy that just never got caught.....

    Correct

I was repairing a little KE70 corolla for my partner at the times sister, it had a cold start issue I though I had nailed, I took the vehicle to nighshift that night, which was within the hours of the vehicle permit and was test driving, also within the permit, altough I was going to work, a no no. I had the vehicle booked for a roadworthy at 11am that morning

I was travelling home, he seen me and pulled me over, no number plates, who wouldn;t, I politely greated him with the permit, told him my story and he told me I could not do that and asked for the second page of the permit, the page you need not display to which I had left at home

I said again I can't do that and accused me of having the permit so as to avoid paying registration, I showed him the card from the RWC bloke, he again replied I couldn't do that, I told him to do my IBR and see there was 6 vehicles registered in my name at the time, he said he didn't care, he see's people doing this all the time

I told him he was being an asshole, he also told me a couldn't do that, to which I said I can and said it again, that went round in a circles a few times to which I snatched my licence, told him again he was just being an asshole, I'm going home and he can ****ing arrest me if he wants it to go any further, got in the car and buried it and did the biggest pathetic skid a KE70 corolla could do, he sent me a fine for unregistered vehicle to which I contested

unfotunately the legal aid dude carried on and got me to put in a plea of guilty and hope for a lesser fine.....I never cared about the money, but hey, you think listening to the legal people would be the right thing to do

Magistrate hears the story, says Mr me, its a shame you have put in a plea of guilty, unfortunately I have to convict you, the minimum fine is 200 and something bucks plus court costs, I can't see this is correct but my hands are tied

The magistates are usually pretty human

I've still got an LJ GTR, It hasn't seen the light of day for over 10 years now but I still occasionally go for weekends away with my old car club from back in the day (Foundation member, Life membership for 10yrs senior committee [4yrs President]). Spent some time judging shows for the Australian Street Machine Federation too .

Unfortunately I've only ever owned slow diesel 4x4s and cars, therefore nothing you could really classify as high performance.

Do have a chipped Golf TDI which is good for the occasional spray every now and then but selling it shortly. Too many ****** drivers in Melbourne now and I don't feel safe in it with no one practising safe following distances etc. Would rather be in the Landy and have some steel around me.

Almost bought a Jaguar XJR s/h but I think I'll wait till I have a place a bit out of the city where I can enjoy it.

Unfortunately now having 2 friends of mine die in rovers, I'd be thinking otherwise, there is alot to be said for crumble zones/body strenght in newer vehicles
