    PS
Inspect that front tailshaft if doing big Ks down the highway over along period.
They can vibe the bolts and nuts that hold them loose unless you use new lock nuts and Loctite every time you play with that tailshaft..

Made it safely to Thirmere tonight. Heading out for tea soon with some of the locals.

Ron, your spot on with the oil leak on the overdrive. I now have a collection of oil spots starting to appear on the trailer.... I'll check the front driveshaft first thing in the morning - thanks for the heads up. I checked over every nut and bolt before leaving, but jeez does that front shaft take some stick going up and down hills all day. It is a lot quieter since giving it a good squirt of grease the other day.

On a lighter note, it is returning very good fuel economy. So far averaging around 22 litre per 100K's. The speedo reads out slightly - I'll discuss that more later, as it isn't linear, but the odometer matches almost to the KM that my trip has taken when I looked on Google maps, so it is a reasonably accurate figure. Having a thumping tail wind all day today has helped a lot.... I'll report back at the end of the trip with a good average over a couple of thousand KM.

Oh, and I checked the oil in the gearbox and transfer case this morning - gearbox as expected was full and clean, and surprisingly the TC oil was still ok, and was very marginally darker, but still looked pretty good. I'll be changing it tomorrow anyway with something a tad thinner, and I might stick an additive in there as well. I'll report back on my findings when I have some data.

Keep the name suggestions coming, there will be some good discussions happening around the campfire this weekend.

    Cheers - Gav

My LT77 in my RRC should have Dextron 11 in it from memory, but it is running VMX 80 which was recommended by British Off Road workshop,it now runs quieter and doesn't get hot,I also use Wynnes products in most of my others particularly the 2a GS and S3 L/weight have been using it since the 60's when street rodding Not cheap but worth it.

castrol VMX 80 is what I use in the gearbox of the 101 with the 20w50 in the transfercase.
The VMX 80 made the gearbox a little bit easier to use, it just slips into gear a bit better...................I have now used it for years without problems.
I use a graphite or moly additive to the transfercase, diffs and C/Vs.
PBL Proma, molybond, or currently stuff called oil dag only because I got a large amount of it for something else.

Could be sooooo much worse by changing just one letter.

    THAT would take explaining.
