they may stop production in 2015 but I bet you they are still being driven in 2115 all be it with hover jet technology and running on water or wee ,but they will be modded thru the ages as they always have been
Oh yes, that much is true. Just like there are still quite a few WWII Jeeps sputtering about.

HERE WE GO AGAIN...... is this an official Land Rover release?
Land Rover have stated yes, there will be a production run down on the Defender, but have NOT released a date. NOTE: they have not released a date stating when production will cease.
Shall I say it again in bold letters? People keep posting stories about Land Rover's future that are not official Land Rover releases but speculation from newspaper and auto magazine columnists. Land Rover HAVE stated that they will NOT be releasing any comments on production cessations or new model releases until it is the final opportunity for release because of copyright etc.....
Maybe it's the end, maybe not. I just read the article and had to think how well written and respectful it is of the marque
Times change and volume speaks VOLUMES! It'll be a sad day, but not the end of the world.
The way TATA are approaching the Landie brand, it'll just keep getting better and better imho

If you read the link to the original Telegraph article, the one with Marilyn Monroe at the top, and if you read the whole article, you will see a "quoted" date of December 20th 2015, which the Telegraph SAY, is the date JLR have QUOTED to them, as being the last date of production for the current Defender.
I haven't seen an "official" JLR domiciled article,.....but neither have I seen any sort of rebuttal.
As "The Telegraph" is a "reputable" paper, I would doubt that they would say that they had been told by JLR, if they had not, or run the risk of damages?
Cheers, Pickles.
no newspaper is reputable, that's why grandpa used to cut them up into squares and hang 'em on nail in his dunny. Go to the JLR official website and see if you can see the official quoted date there.
see, this article tells about production until 2017,,,,,it is not a reputable newspaper though. so can you believe it?
