    Jag engines in Rovers

For those of you that don't know my first automotive love is Jags. Ive got couple of restored Jags rathering dust under the house and I write some tech stuff for the JAG MAG. Anyway one of my mates is living in the UK at the moment and he went on tour of the Jag factory and he viewed both Disco's and Rangies fitted with Jag V8s including the Blowen engine. These engines are pretty trick, light, powefull, and strong. The v8s are quad cam variable valve timing that sort of stuff. The v6 is based on the Ford modular unit. Basically Jag use the block and oil pump the rest is Jag, these are also pretty trick. The rumour is we might see the V6 in a Rover as well. I might see if the editor of the Jag mag can get any gos.

Shaun interesting, You will probably know more about the Jag engines than anyone. And be able to help
but looking at your avitar, smoking is a health hazard, shame on you, you got to give up those fags.

    Re: Jag engines in Rovers

This is the oldest actual thread (aside from conditions of access etc) that I could find in the AULRO general section. Perhaps it is the first ever, who knows. Besides that piece of historical interest, this post is interesting in that it mentions Jag engines in Land Rovers. Given the change of ownership to Ford Group etc this is now happening, it would seem, with the new D3. Funny old world, eh.

It would seem logical to use the jag engines. I mean as shaun said in the original post they are light, sophisticated and very powerfull. Look at the Jag 4.4L V8 going into disco 3, in a 4wd it is producing a health 240 odd KW, ford needs a 5.4Ltr V8 to get 260, and holden are only just better than that with the 5.7L, they are going to the Gen IV 6L now. As for the V6, i thought that was a ford engine based on the explorer, sounds like it is a jag engine aswell. Good stuff. But you are right vlad, its a funny old world. - this was also a poor attempt at post whoring, sneaky very sneaky. Why the hell didnt i think of that. Oh thats right you are the ideas man.
