Thread: A/C question.

Hope your week is going well.
Just wondering if there are any A/C gurus out there.
97p38 compressor is cycling very often. Turns on and off every 15 seconds or so. Air is very cold especially on recirculate, but the temp is not variable. The whole HEVAC is not the greatest in terms of functionality, but the basics work. I suspect a sensor but the only fault code I can obtain, is "A/C circuit problem". Not the most comprehensive scanner but all I have access too for now. Any thoughts comments gratefully received.

it could be a couple of things

a leak in the seal - short of gas causing it to short cycle

very blocked evaporator - low air flow = very cold air

something womboon in the electrics - dodgy t/stat

gives you somewhere to start - there are a couple of auto fridgies on here who are much better at diagnosis than me - I'm industrial a/c and refrigeration but the physics are the same
