    Bad eBay vendor

Had my first sour taste ebay experience in quite some time recently with an Australian vendor of 4x4 gear and lights with a lot of stuff on eBay. I broke my rules and bought a set of Hella Rallye 4000 compact lights which was advertised as having a fully internally mountable HID kit, from a vendor with a 98.7% positive rating, normally they have to be high 99's for me to deal with them. I should have stuck to my rules.

Firstly they sent full size Rallye 4000's not the compacts, I contacted them and they admitted their mistake and when I asked them to pay for the return they said to just put return to sender on box and take to a post office. I asked them to send a courier they said couriers wouldn't do that which is . Anyway I waste my time taking the package back and I got a huge lecture from the Australia post office as of course they don't normally accept registered parcels back for return when they have been signed for but they let it go and took it. The vendor did then send the right product with some very valuable (their words) freebies which they said should make me very happy. (A hella branded stubby cooler and a couple of 4wd DVD' which they clearly got as freebies from their suppliers one was even branded with a supplier name.)

When I went to install the HID kit I couldn't get it to fit and when I sent them feedback they told me not to get cranky (which made me even more cranky) and told me they had sold tons of them with no complaints. When I called them the next day they finally admitted that it didn't fit inside but that I could glue the ballast to the back of the lights. When I said this wouldn't work for me they agreed to have me return the HID kit, and send me the normal Xenon globes and refund the difference between the lights without the HID kit. The clincher was that they refused to pay for the return postage and said they were sending me some special globes which were worth an extra $35 bucks. This is also just I just got some bog standard 100w H1 globes you can buy better on eBay from others for a lot less than $35.

I wanted to have the lights installed mo than three weeks ago, I am now several weeks from the initial order I have had to make two unnecessary trips to the post office , I don't have the product I wanted and had to pay for the privilege of returning the HID kit.

I will respect the AULRO rules and not name them, but PM me if you like and I will tell you.

This happened to me recently on ebay.

My experience wasn't anything to do with lights or car parts for that matter, but instead it was a meat mincer. Lol

I was so unhappy with the product and the service after the purchase that I decided to list an ad back on ebay warning people not to buy the crap product that I had originally purchased. Mind you I only decided to do this after getting well and truly ****ed over buy the seller, and he knew exactly what he was doing. He had a plan for neg feedback and he stooged me and, asit turns out, many others. If anyone want's details Pm me......

In the end I estimate, from the feedback I got through the add I posted, I cost the seller around $2500 in sales at least. I eventually got bored relisting the add and dealing with refunds to people who thought I was selling the ****ing thing. Knobs!

Stick it to ém man. Assholes on ebay are rampant and should be shut down.
    Cheers

I did pay by Paypal, he did refund the amount of difference between the lights alone and the lights with HID, so all I am actually financially out is about $17 for postage and all of the wasted time and hassle. I can't be bothered opening a dispute, I have wasted enough time with this clown, I wold rather cost him some future sales and protect others from him.

I'm willing to bet it's the same seller who sells lights and looms separately, which when you add the costs together, ends up being retail or higher prices.

If it is the same guy, he also forces extra postage costs if you use paypal to pay.... Well, he used to anyway. Can't say I've checked out any of his items for a long time.

Oh, I don't know if anyone else caught the announcement today about a few changes for ebay sellers, but one which really caught my eye was the 'unwarranted' feedback removal. I don't know exactly how it's going to work, but I see some dodgy sellers not getting the feedback they deserve, and unwilling buyers not having honest opinions to refer to before buying.

This guy is amazing, after completely denying any impost to me and actually telling me I should be grateful for his generosity and telling me that he was perfect entitled to treat his customers badly due the the wording on his listings, he is now coming over all apologetic and offering to give me $30 if I withdraw my negative feedback.

Well mate, I would rather you keep that $30 and lose the sales you deserve to lose due to the well earned negative feedback.

Based on the PM's I have recieved and responded to so far from people who are in the eBay market for lights, I am fairly comfortable that it has already cost him a sale or two, maybe more.

Do accept his offer, but tell him you want it in your PP first + the fees paypal charge you, then simply dont withdraw the feedback and ignore his emails.. lolol
