Rear wiper motor replaced with light

96 300tdi discovery - So my rear motor wiper was playing up and seeing as it rarely got used I decided to remove it. I am now hoping to use the wiring for a reverse/rear light. My question is, does anyone know if this is possible, I had a quick look and fiddle and seem to only get a positive with ignition on but doesn't switch with the original wiper button on the dash cluster. Any help or guidance would be appreciated thanks. There are two plug associated with the motor, one with 3 wire and the other with 2. Thanks

IIRC, the rear wiper does the intermitant thing on the 1st push on, then off and full time on with the 2nd push, off again and the cycle repeats. Hope that makes sense ??

Thanks, so if I replace the relay/contact to somewhat of a standard one just on and off it will act normally?
