Getting a Perentie from Bris to Melb

    Hi all,

I purchased a Perentie in the Brisbane auctions today and now need to get it to Melbourne. Can anyone suggest any decent cost effective car freight companies ? So far quotes at around the $800 mark.

Well done.. Why not make a trip out of it and fly up there and drive it back?

$800 sounds pretty reasonable to me. It cost us around $1600 last year to get the county back to Melb from Cairns with Door to Door car carrying.
Try these guys for some quick easy quotes http://www.compare-quotes.com.au/car-transport.aspx
We found it was cheaper through them than going direct to the carriers themselves.

Personally, I'd be flying up and driving it back - what better way to get to know your new vehicle.

Not sure you will do better...

    Hi,

Back in 2011 I had a no-goer SWB shipped from Gunnedah to Brisbane for $400 which was the best deal I could find going at the time. It worked out considerably cheaper than driving down there and back with a hire trailer, cost of over-nighting etc. Plus it avoided the hassle of actually transporting the vehicle etc. If you can get your truck shipped from Brisbane to Melbourne for $800 it is probably a reasonably good deal.

The number and name of the fellow who arranged to collect and ship mine at the time is Dave at 043-8623109. Other than that I was overseas at the time and still have no idea who he was or who actually delivered the truck.

    Cheers,
