My 85 vogue has 1984 dated 3 spokes for it's four main wheels, but the spare is a 3 spoke dated 1982. Slightly different hub casting design, all tubed and different colour too.
Looks bloody ugly when I have 3 dark grey 5 spokes and one bright silver 3 spoke.

Model year 85 was the first of the "Phase 11" 4 door vehicles large dash with inbuilt taco, but still with the small size wheel studs of the early vehicles it was also the last of the carburated vehicles, MY 86 brought the first of the injected motors and with it a horse power increase,123 BHP up to 172 (from memory) it brought with it the wheel stud diameter increase and in Australia the 3 spoke mags (grey) Vogue in UK, but Hi-line in Aust.

The 81 model "In Vogue" was a production special for "Vogue" magazine in UK.

There are no small wheel studs. My 85 uses the same studs as my 93 and the 97 disco axles under the 85 now. M16.

These are exactly the same thread as series 3. I use series 3 nuts to hold my steel wheels on.

The old man runs 3-spoke Rangie rims on his 130 with no issues..

If i recall correctly the studs had a slot on the end which meant they were suitable for alloy wheels, i paid $600 for a set of vogue 3 spokes years ago for my then 83 "in vogue" RR

They refer to this in the Haynes manual, a slot or triangle to identify studs suitable for alloy wheels. But give no indication of why certain studs aren't suitable for the alloys.

    Camrover,
As stated in the second post by Bilbo Boggles, the RR alloy's don't have the load rating for a 130.
They also have more positive offset, IE. they sit further in toward the car, so you will have issues with tyres rubbing on the radius arms and rear spring mounts.
The only advantage they will have is if you like the look of them, every thing else is downside.

    Tony
