    PLEASE....PLEASE....can we call it a registration plate or rego for short.....License plates are American.....we are having enough problems with our national identity. A license doesn't allow your car to be driven on roads, registration does. I'm not being pedantic, I'm being fair dinkum.

    Except the verification of rego is (at least still in Qld) a registration STICKER not the plate. The plate is a vehicle identifier.

    So really NUMBER plate would probably be best...
    It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

    Vlad, they've done away with rego stickers here in NSW. It's most inconvenient.

    I haven't had a light on my plate in years and its stashed well under the tray to avoid speed cameras

    My missus says the same thing. Easy to forget when teh rego is due with no reminder sticker there. Perhaps the Dept of Transport ought to offer a little 'reminder' sticker (like you get when you get a car serviced) for the inside of the windscreen.

    The lack of a requirement for displaying a rego sticker is a BOON for motorcycles though - where there is often nowher to display opne which doesn't make the bike uglier.....

    be careful with replace the light. it might make your car non compliant with ADR's.
