Someone must be watching, I never drive around with the tongue in my towbar, but the one day I left it in I managed to get rear ended by a little ford. It was a write-off, my Rangie had one scratch on the rear bumper. I was lucky the towbar took it all!

The little ford's owners insurance covered the new towbar. I wouldn't tow with it after copping such a shunt.

Glad to hear the mrs is ok mate.

I don't buy that .... Have a look at these. We have come a long way since the 70's... I'm not an old prude and drove a 1961 model car each day last week. I don't even dream the oldies are even remotely comparable to the current fragile plastic crap.

Nothing is safer than a massive tanks from america right ... one of those HUGE impalas from the 60's ... check this out ... modern junk versus impala...

eg: You know how all the middle aged women used to go out and buy a volvo wagon (now they all buy a prado instead... every middle aged women with a child needs a 3ton tank)........ How about big heavy Volvo versus a modernish crappy little plastic throw away renault ..

Bloody unbelievable right ... the modern cars just cut a path of sheer destruction through the big heavy old tanks.

All I care about is no-one is hurt regardless of the type of car driven. You gotta wonder if your being sensible driving your kids around in something like a Citroen 2cv with all the towering w@nk tanks around you that are generally driven by people that shouldn't be allowed to ride a pushbike in traffic.
