Selling for financial reasons. Mid-twenties, trying to buy a house, need to get sensible and cut a fleet down.
Wise choice. I had a beautiful VC SL/E I sold to get a deposit for a house. Best decision I made. I still very much regret selling the car though.

Europe is the other side of the English Channel. Land Rover is from a place called the British isles which are the Islands in the Atlantic to the left of Europe. Although Land Rover is owned by an Indian company.

Europe is a continent of which the British Isles are part.

Or has the newly created People's Republic of North Yorkshire been altering maps to suit it's own political ends?

And the question was real. Nissan, Toyota and Honda have huge, successful factories in the UK. But people would instinctively think of them as Japanese.

My wife has a petrol EOS with the DSG gearbox. We both think it's the pits. Try doing a reverse park up a little slope, it either doesn't move or suddenly takes off at high speed. It kangaroo hops in slow traffic jams. We took it back to VW and they said it was normal. We won't buy another one.

The UK is a member of the European Economic Community. I think it's great they let non Europeans in. It's also great that all those French and German people can be kings and queens of England. The famous Richard the Lionheart was a Frenchman who spent less than 6 months in England and couldn't even speak English.

Nah, the Yorkies could never get the hang of the fact that there was a whole world outside Yorkshire.

"Nay, lad. Beer wi'out 'ead on it? Crime against 'umanity tha'"

And with an Irish grandmother, a Scottish grandfather, a Welsh grandmother and an English grandfather (a Lancashire lad!) I consider myself a mongrel. And having spent the first 30-odd years of my life in the UK and in Europe (), I believe I know where it is.

Think I will keep my venerable TD5 D2, at least with the help of this forum I have a good idea what is going to break on it. Have to say, with the exception of oil in the harness the week after I bought it, it has never left me on the side of the road. Now has 365,480 KMs on the clock. Bob

edit- If we are going to talk about who is British, spare a thought for the Diggers in France during WW1, when almost all of their victories were reported as 'British',about the only time they were 'Australian' was if they got into strife, such as burning down a brothel, frequented, funnily enough, by the ' British'.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Wrong Mikhzz. Britain is a member of the EU which used to be the EEC but is rapidly becoming a federal state which will control all aspects of the lives of those unfortunate to be a part of it.
Members of the European Parliament have no say and cannot alter legislation as that is dictated by unseen, unelected bureaucraps in Brussels. They are only allowed to "comment" on it! How's that for democracy?
Many companies like Nissan, Honda etc have excellent products being produced there (UK) and I'm sure where a car is made is not the problem. As with LR the prob is with the attitude of those you deal with not with who owns the company.
I never had much time for the stealer (Barbagallo) in WA but since having the Puma have had very good warranty service from them and say so whenever I can.
It's what makes you feel good even if you keep muttering about the vehicle.
    AlanH.
PS. Most of the above of course is totally off topic but I felt some clarification was needed.

    G'day Davo,

So is there anything wrong with being a Luddite? That is the main reason I like Series Land Rovers anyway. Sans computers in the 1970s.

    Kind Regards
    Lionel
