LR images for comercial website needed

Hello Together,

We are currently developing the new web site for Davis Performance and requiring some images of the following cars and models for the category description and general use.

Instead of waiting for each model to come to the workshop I thought I may ask some fellow LR owners whether some would be happy
to provide us one or two good images of your car for the web site.

You would need to own the rights to the images and release the rights to Davis Performance.

If you email us images you will agree to the below:

I do hereby release to Davis Performance, its agents, and employees all rights to exhibit this work in print and electronic form publicly or privately to use on their web site or promotional material. I waive any rights, claims, or interest I may have to control the use of my images or likeness in whatever media used.

I understand that there will be no financial or other remuneration for the images, either for initial or subsequent transmission or playback.

We require images of:

Discovery 1
Discovery 2
Discovery 3
Discovery 4

Defender 1990 -1998
Defender 1999 -2006
Defender 2007 -2011
Defender 2007 -current

RR Classic (1986-94)
RR P38 (1994-02)
RRL322 (2002-current)

RRS Series 1 (2005-09)
RRS Series 2 (2010-12)

Freelander 1
Freelander 2
RR Evoque

Images can be emailed to 4sprung@gmail.com.

Hi, sorry if this question comes accross as rude, but why wouldn't they want to pay for the rights for the photos? Is is for a commercial website after all. I would have thought that even a small dollar amount would be appreciated for trying to make dollars from the images.

Or, better still, offer to make a donation to AULRO for any pictures used.

Exactly guys. I thought the request was poor form and placed Davis Performance in a negative light.

hi guy's,

that was my idea not DPL's and was not meant to offend. the images itself would be used as small category images do not for a big advertising campaign which brings in big $.

Personally I have no problems giving a picture which cost me nothing to someone like Bruce and team who looked after me, serviced my cars, provided advise on weekend when my car was broken in the bush an was willing to source and ship out parts on short notice. ( this was before I had a business relationship with him).

As I already have received some images ( thanks a lot for everyone who sent it in) I assume there are other people who think like me.

If you don't find it appropriate, my apologies it was not meant to offend, please simply disregard the post and please blame it on me not DPL.

I am guessing you would want pictures of unmodified vehicles. Those without racks, bars, wheel carriers, aerials etc from third parties. Is that correct?

yes that would be best, as little visible modifications as possible

Sort of still think it would be nice if they could make a donation to this site as it is being used as a source to collect the images from. Or, as maybe pay a Vendors subscription here as they are potentially profiting from the members of the site?

Do you have a preference for image size or format?

Any particular backgrounds you do, or don't, prefer?

Might be able to help you with a D2 & D4 nose to nose shortly.
