Eclectic tastes . . . Whatever strikes a chord at the time,,, or resonates . Ranges from ENYA to the 1812, a blast of Purcell to the heart-tugging of Sarah and Andre saying 'Goodbye'. English madrigals by the King's Singers' some pop from my youth and even Xmas carols in July' the mix well tempered by traditional devotional, and seasoned with Vivaldi.

I have wide tastes in music, but my favourite is Beethoven's violin concerto, probably followed by his Symphony No 9. Other likes are especially various compositions of Bach, especially some of his organ music.

Also like some more recent work, including one noted above from Les Miserables.

Next time you're out camping and having your dinner under the stars, once you're done and the plates are cleaned away, your wine refilled and your backside well and truly comfy in the chair, slip on Mozart's Clarinet Concerto in A Major.

I saw Out of Africa when I was a young lad and have been in love with this piece of music (and the idea of going to Africa) every since.

Everytime I hear it now I can smell and hear the camp fire, it's awesome.

Here's the second movement, played by the world's finest clarinetist, Sabine Meyer.

Or, for a bit of quintessential Englishness in the way that only he could, the utterly splendid Mr Ralph Vaughan Williams' 'The Lark Ascending'.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
