Give me the flute and sing because singing is the secret of life
and the whine of the flute will remain even after the end of existence
Give me the flute and sing because singing is the secret of eternity
and the whine of the flute will remain even after the end of existence
Did you choose, like me,woodlands as a home instead of palaces ?
And did you follow the streams and climb up the rocks ?
Did you bathe with perfumes and dry up under the light of the sun ?
Did you sip the dawn as a wine served in ethereal glasses ?
Give me the flute and sing because singing is the secret of life
and the whine of the flute will remain even after the end of existence
Give me the flute and sing because singing is the secret of eternity
and the whine of the flute will remain even after the end of existence
Have you ever sat like me at nightfall among the gripevines ?
Their drooping bunches are like gold chandeliers
Have you ever slept on the grass at night just covered by the sky ?
Not interested in future and forgotten of the past
Give me the flute and sing because singing is moderation for the hearts
and the whine of the flute will remain even after the sins have perished
Give me the flute and sing and forget the illnesses and the medications
because men are no more than lines written with water

I remember walking into a discotheque come nightclub back in '73, downstairs they were playing Gladys knight, upstairs they were playing "Loves Theme" I couldn't believe my ears and was blown away by this music, it was a completely new sound. It must have moved my heart and soul because I became hooked there and then and became a huge Barry White fan
Forty years on I'm still playing his music with just as much passion
Unfortunately Barry White died on this day in 2003, but I'm sure he'll be looking down at those 4th july fireworks with a smile. Today I'll be playing his music and reminiscing. His music certainly moved me.
You tube is a wonderful thing for music, here are a few of my favourite clips of the Maestro at work.
A nice tribute from Holland

The creator of "Wallace + Gromit" made this video for the Barry White / Tina Turner duet, but Barry wasn't keen on the finished article and it was never released. I think it's brilliant

Barry White live in Paris doing what he did best
Many Robbie Williams' fans may be unaware Rock DJ's simple but throbbing hook was built upon Barry White's It's Ecstasy When You Lay Down Next To Me. I'm pretty sure a few $$ had to be paid by Robbie for using it without permission.

Of all the Barry White concerts I've been to this was my favourite, It was quite an amazing night.
