Mick, your arguments are correct, forget about the internet, I have a lot of friends that live in Brasil and also in Uruguay.
Retired people in Uruguay that have an income of U$A 2000 per month go to Brasil to live because they can have a very comfortable life.
This people do not go and live in small country towns many go to Florianopolis because is a costal city and relative close to Uruguay
Poor people in Uruguay tat have an income of $600 per month go the the border and shop in Brasilain towns.
Brasil it is cheap, an Australian single age pensioner will live better in Brasil (money ways) than in Australia.

By the way, in Rio, (in Ipanema) the full menu in Mc Donald cost U$A 9.45 that is tha hamburger, cheps drink and sweets.
I do not have any idea how much cost here the last time that I was in one was about 5 years or so.

In many 3rd world countries maccas and KFC are seen as a higher class of food than local stores so charge a premium compared to local stores and in China are Home delivered.

We cannot compare, the places in San Pablo were you can get a very cheap home you need to add the cost of a private army with state of the art guns to protect your family....well it is not as bad as Mexico but I would not live there.
You can get and apartment in Ipanema (Rio) for A$300000, something equal here will be 5 times more.

They have a few smart ideas in that min wage rise is linked to cost of living.
Ah well good to know I got something right . lol .
