Qld. Tropical Cyclone Dillon by Wednesday?

I hope not but the conditions are there

Queensland's first cyclone of year predicted to form in Coral Sea this week

The weather bureau's Richard Wardle warns the system may combine with king tides later in the week.

"We have really good conditions for the low to spin up into a cyclone," he said.

On the up side Arthur; it could turn into a rain depression after crossing the coast; resulting in some desperately needed rainfall west of The Divide.

As long as we don't get blown away it all looks pretty good. Supposedly it's expected to come across somewhere between Townsville and Bowen at this stage so heavy rain is expected down this way. As you say Ian, hopefully it will track inland and deliver some much needed rain to the west, God knows they need it badly.

Bit early yet to tell with any accuracy where it may hit but yes, time to batten down and be prepared.
