Ask les hiddens about blonde aborigines, and i'm not talking about these days, there are heaps of blue eyed blonde aboriginies around now,you see them on tv every couple of nights talking about "my people" and completely ignoring the 70 or 80 % of their genetic make up.We are the sum of our parts and you can't just pick one ancestor and ignore the rest.Anyway we are talking movies here.Like an old not funny gerry lewis movie where he impersonates a german general .His friends dress in german uniforms to infiltrate a castle and one of them is very black!Would have not fooled the biggest dumnkopf for one nano second!
Oh and blonde camel drivers? In the movies probably yes!

The problem is that the characters in a real show about Eskimos would be difficult to manage...they'd all be on ice

Albinos are not uncommon amongst the black skin races. Albino children in Africa especially are at enormous risk from superstitious practices and are the favourite playthings of witchdoctors and human traffickers... sad but true

Like a certain "Aboriginal" activist from Tasmania. Blonde hair and blue eyes. Looks more Scandinavian than me and the missus rolled together. A few Norwegian sealers passed by Bass Strait perhaps.

I noted a number of albino children (and a few adults) in PNG when I lived there. They are more often than not deaf, the result of a genetic defect linked to the albinism, and while they did not appear to suffer the problems you mention in Africa, they did suffer badly as the result of living in the tropics in a society where children wore little if any clothing, and frequently also had eye problems.

Now this opens up a can of words with the deeds and history surrounding 617 squadron, aka 'The Dambusters'.

As many would know this was the name of Guy Gibson's dog and became part of radio code for some aspect of the famous raid.

I have heard that DVD versions of the original film have overdubbed the name with 'Blackie'. Can't confirm.

Some info on the remake here:

After hearing of this guess what my black 54kg lab/mastiff's nickname became for the PC brigade............. he's normally called Jed.

I think the PC brigade should not be in the business of re-writing history........ otherwise we are never going to learn anything.

    cheers, DL

Yep. The dark kids name in South Park is "Token"
And what about Adam & Eve? I've only ever seen them as Whiteys. If, indeed, they were running around starkers they would have got horribly sunburnt methinks so maybe they were black.
I brought this up with one of the Brothers at the Cattle tick school I went to & he just about had a coronary!
