I agree. I think EVERYONE should be allowed to have no more than 2 kids. As we keep curing everything people are going to live longer & longer. Sooner or later food, water & (land) space will be a massive problem, not to mention energy. God help us if we have big shortages of water........ how will we make beer ?

And that's the real killer with heart related stuff apparently... It's the negative thoughts/emotions constantly straining the heart. Google "broken heart syndrome" and try to forget about your worries.

And always look on the bright side of life!!!

BTW, I have early mild heart condition (AF) that plays on my mind way too much. Just in he process of annual review with Electrocardiologist. And now I gotta worry about sugar and alcohol too. Bugger that!

Life's a real **** when you look at it... Think I better stop looking so hard.

Seriously, every piece of health news these days is "don't eat burnt toast, you'll get cancer", or "don't look left before right when crossing the road, it gives you diabetes".
No **** constantly getting ****ed or guzzling soft drink like a rover V8 will do bad stuff for your health, but I'd rather enjoy my life and go a bit sooner than live forever on lentils and soy milk.

that.s fine, so long as you are aware of the risks, and promise not to complain if you do get cancer.

I think that I am going to change the name of my dog to Moderation and I will be safe as long as I am with him.

Alcohol use is a slippery slope. Moderate drinking can offer some health benefits. But it's easy to drink too heavily, leading to serious health consequences.

It sounds like a mixed message: Drinking alcohol may offer some health benefits, especially for your heart. On the other hand, alcohol may increase your risk of health problems and damage your heart.

So which is it? When it comes to drinking alcohol, the key is doing so only in moderation
I did quote an article based on the the World Health Organisation, not the Mayo Clinic.

In the mid 1980s worked a while in a Nursing home. One of their patients was a man about 40 years old. He was found drunk in the Gutter at Kings Cross with No ID on him [he had been Robbed] and had suffered a stroke and so was unable to communicate. He is destined to spend the rest of his life having His Arse wiped, then showered by a big hairy Nurse, as he can no longer tell us when he wants to go to the Loo.

So If you want to risk that feel free to drink.

Yes I had/have Cancer, and yes Bad Diet increases the risk for Cancer, that is a medical fact.

I am a Lacto-ovo Vegetarian but my diet could be healthier. Still to much junk.

Statistically we can change lifestyle and reduce the risk according to Medical Science.

Yes we may not reduce risk to zero, but we can reduce it by around 85% or so for many cancers according to published Statistics.

I wonder what the odds are with dieldron, & agent orange in your drinking water. It makes you feel like a walking time bomb, but hey, LG. You'll get no whinges from me, Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

both my Grandmothers died of bowel cancer and I had Bowel Cancer removed. Having said that their are very strong links between Diet and Bowel Cancer. Strict Vegans get very Little Bowel Cancer.
